CA Pear, Monterey Jack and Herb Skewers: Paired With Chardonnay

Ingredients:

– 1 California pears, cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes – 2 teaspoons lemon juice – 6 ounces of Real California Jack or Smoked Jack cheese, cubed – 1/4 cup honey – 2 teaspoons sriracha or chipotle hot sauce – 4 sprigs fresh thyme – Flaky sea salt, cracked black pepper, and/or red pepper flakes, optional

Directions:

Toss the cubed pear in the lemon juice to prevent browning, then thread alternating cubes of pear and Real California Jack cheese on a skewer or long toothpick.

Add the honey and hot sauce to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat at full power for 30 seconds and stir to combine. Drizzle a bit of the honey over each skewer, and then top with thyme leaves. Add flaky sea salt, cracked black pepper, and/or red pepper flakes, if desired. Serve immediately.

*Remaining hot honey may be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
