For bars: – 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar – 1 cup pumpkin puree – 1/2 cup Real California unsalted butter, melted, plus more for pan – 2 large eggs – 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt For frosting: – 3/4 cup Real California unsalted butter, room temperature – 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar – 3 tablespoons Real California heavy cream – 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder – 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for dusting :Pumpkin, Pumpkin Bars, Latte, Pumpkin Spice, PSL

Directions:

Prep time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 30 minutes

For cake: Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 8x8-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, whisk sugar, pumpkin, butter, eggs and espresso powder together until smooth. In a separate large bowl, whisk flour, pumpkin pie spice and salt together until combined. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 to 40 minutes. Allow to cool completely at room temperature before frosting

For frosting: Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat butter until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar, heavy cream, espresso powder and pumpkin pie spice, and beat until light and fl uff y, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Spread frosting evenly over bars and dust with additional pumpkin pie spice. Cut into 9 squares. Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Yield: 9 bars
