California dairy farmers care deeply about the health and happiness of their cows and the conditions under which they are raised and cared for. The highest standards of animal care are not only the right thing to do, but they also allow for the production of the highest quality milk. The National Milk Producers Federation is launching a new program this fall which will allow farmers to show consumers how California dairy farmers take care of their Happy Cows.
As part of the National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management program, dairy farmers will continue to look into even more advanced practices in health, housing, nutrition, milking and transportation of their cows. While California dairy farmers already adhere to some of the highest animal welfare standards, this program will allow for even further improvement in animal care practices and provide a process of verification that those practices are carried out.
California dairy producers have a strong tradition of providing excellent care for their dairy cows and this program will allow them to show their commitment to consumers. For more information on National Dairy FARM, please visit http://www.nationaldairyfarm.com
