A New Dairy Princess Court is Crowned
The 2010 Dairy Princesses and alternates have been officially crowned! From across California’s dairy districts, 16 young women have been selected for a one-year reign. This year’s court represents multi-generational dairy families as well as first generation producers – with a shared desire to champion California’s dairy industry and their community.

Since its adoption in 1984, the Real California Cheese seal has taken the country by storm! Born from an effort to promote California's booming cheese industry, the seal's certification mark was created to assure consumers were purchasing natural cheese made in California exclusively with milk sourced from California's dairy families.

It's been two years since the CMAB introduced the Real California Milk seal to help consumers identify milk produced by one of California's 1,700 dairy farms and products made from this milk.

California's cheese industry dates back to the Gold Rush when many pioneers who trekked to California brought along dairy cows as a way of supplying milk to their families.In 1860, California's dairy cow population reached 100,000 and the growing milk supply stimulated the start of our thriving cheese industry.
