Even when California's temperate climate gets a bit chilly, dairy farmers are working diligently to ensure their cows remain comfortable and productive every day.

In an effort to keep cows comfortable year-round, many California producers utilize nutrients from the farm to serve as dry, soft and warm bedding.  Proper nutrition is always a primary concern — producers work with nutritionists and veterinarians to ensure their cows are healthy so they can produce more quality milk. Calves are the future of the dairy, and their nutrition and health are also taken very seriously.  In the summer months, California dairy producers work to keep cows cool with misters, and in the winter, cows are often washed in the barn with warm water to help them relax.

California dairy producers have a strong tradition of providing excellent care for their dairy cows.
